PORT ALLEGANY, PA — In what would be their closest contest of the season, the Port Allegany football team defended their home field with a dispatching of Kane, beating the Wolves 32-26.

While Port would be first to reach the endzone, with Aidan Bliss christening the scoreboard with a 15-yard run followed by a 2-point conversion pass from Brennan Fillhart to Kellen Veilleux, Kane would be quick to counter. Scoring at the top of the second quarter with an eight-yard Brody Wehler rush, the Wolves would kick off a scoring blitz by both teams. Both teams would reach the endzone twice before the break, with Kane outscoring the Gators in the quarter 20-16.

In the third, Kane would take the lead with a 30-yard passing touchdown to Wehler from Matthew Gilmore, then holding the Gators scoreless for nearly seven minutes. However, with the threat of their first loss nearing, the Port struck back.

With less than four minutes remaining, the Gators would take back their lead with a 35-run from Veilleux that brought him into the endzone. Bliss would finish things off, sealing their sixth win of the season with a 2-point rush.

Bliss finished with 139 rushing yards and two touchdowns while Veilleux came away with 90 rushing yards and 55 receiving yards, scoring once. Fillhart tallied 200 yards while under center, throwing for one touchdown.

Olean 32, Albion 8

ALBION, NY — The Olean boys football team was in full control in its lopsided victory on the road at Albion as all of the Huskies 32 points came before the Purple Eagles got on the board.

It was Olean quarterback Joe Mest that stole the show as he threw for 299 yards, connecting on 15-of-23 attempts. Mest got his entire receiving corps involved too, throwing passing touchdowns to Caine DeGolier, Mykel Rivera, Adrian Bodhanowycz and Domonick Hirliman.

Hirliman led the Huskies in rushing yards on the night as well with 43 yards on 10 touches.

Defensively, DeGolier recorded a team-high nine tackles.

Redbank Valley 55, Bradford 7

BRADFORD, PA — Four weeks after finding their initial win of the season, the Owls suffered yet another consecutive blowout loss as they fell to the hands of the Bulldogs.

During a night when the defense failed to tie on a tourniquet, a highlight came from Fabian Sherk who recorded two interceptions. Sherk would also score the Owls’ lone touchdown of the night, coming down with a pass from Andrew Giordano.

Portville 50, Fredonia 22

FREDONIA, NY — After having been shutout in its last two games, the Portville/Cuba-Rushford/Bolivar-Richburg football team’s offense roared back to life with a big win on the road against Fredonia.

Jake Zeigler was the spearhead for the Panthers as he tallied a massive 223 yards on just 19 rushes, scoring five times in the process. Aiden Defazio, who recorded 129 passing yards on 14 completions, threw for the other two touchdowns. Peyton Carter and Kingston Loucks picked up the receiving scores.
