BINGHAMTON, NY — The St. Bonaventure women’s soccer team picked up its first loss of the season against Binghamton on Aug. 21.

The Bonnies were only defeated by a narrow 2-1 margin, despite not recording a shot in the entire first half of play. They managed three in the second half, all of which were on target. Meanwhile, the Bearcats let 18 shots fly throughout the contest, but only six found its way on frame.

Binghamton’s Jahkaya Davis broke the game open early, finding the back of the net in just the seventh minute of play. The goal was all that split the sides at the intermission, but 11 minutes into the second half, Davis doubled up her tally for the affair, putting the Bonnies behind by two.

Paula Sanabria Diaz, gave Bona hope with a goal in the 73rd minute, but time ran out for the visitors as the Bonnies moved to 0-1-1 on the season. Their next game is set for Aug. 24 at Youngstown State.
