NORTH COLLINS, NY — After scoring seven runs in the second inning, the Portville softball team was in full control throughout its 11-4 CCAA Div. IV win over North Collins.
The Panthers, after conceding two early runs to the Eagles, were ruthless in their response — punishing mistakes and compounding the pain with good connections at the plate, all of which were highlighted by an Ella Warters home run in the second frame.
Portville officially iced the game with three insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Warters led the visitors, going 1-for-4 on the day with two runs and two RBI. And while Isabella Morales (2-for-3, run, RBI) and Madison Ford (2-for-4, 2 runs, RBI) were the only other Panthers to record multiple hits against North Collins, it was a full-team effort at the plate with every player that took an at-bat getting on base via a hit or walk.
Morales also went the distance in the circle, striking out seven, allowing eight hits and walking just two batters.

Randolph 4, Portville 1
PORTVILLE, NY — After having knotted the scores up at one apiece, the Portville baseball team was unable to generate much offense after the opening frame and a three-run third inning by Randolph was enough to see them grab the win.
In their game, which was originally slated to be played on April 29, but was postponed due to adverse weather, the Panthers were led by Dylan Chudy (2-for-3). He finished the game as the only Portville player to record multiple hits against the Cardinals.
Brady German and Ty Kosinski split the game on the mound with the former finishing three complete innings with three strikeouts, zero walks, seven hits and four runs.
Kosinski finished out the affair not allowing any more hits, striking out one and walking one.
