KANE, PA – Facing Kane for the second time this season, the Bradford baseball team fell short of a comeback, as well as a season sweep, losing to the Wolves 5-2.
Kane would get on the scoreboard first by way of a two-run homer smashed by Kyle Zook in the second inning. The Owls would respond two innings later, with Brody Haviland notching a RBI-single that scored Maksim Demic, but Kane would retaliate once again, scoring two more runs in the bottom of the fourth. Although Bradford mustered one more scoring opportunity in the sixth, their efforts weren’t enough to complete a comeback. Instead, the Owls fell to 4-7 on the season.
Along with Haviland, four other Owls registered hits in the loss, with Demic and AJ Lama logging runs as well.

SHINGLEHOUSE, PA – The Terrors completed a season sweep of OV, holding their grip on the Allegheny Mountain League with back-to-back league wins.
Ryan Schenfield and Jaden Prince both went 2-for-4 with Schenfield driving in two runs and Prince nailing a double during the win. Jared Obenrader also tallied two RBIs during a 1-for-4 day at the plate, while Wyatt Blendinger scored twice and hit one RBI.
O-E will next face another AML opponent on Wednesday when they travel to Emporium to take on Cameron County. That game is scheduled for a 4:30 p.m. start.

OLEAN, NY – Olean’s losing skid stretches to four with a loss at the hands of the Trojans.
Although things would start slow for both teams early on, Southwestern would pull away late, scoring a combined nine runs in the final three frames. The Huskies, on the other hand, struggled to retaliate, scoring just two in the same window.
Caine DeGolier led the way for Olean, tallying two hits and two RBIs during four appearances in the batters’ box. Ethan Woodring ended 1-for-4 with one run scored while Austin Miles drove in one run with his 1-for-2 day at the plate.
The Huskies will return to action on Tuesday, traveling to Allegany-Limestone for a 5 p.m. showdown.

DUNKIRK, NY – The Salamanca baseball team suffered its second loss in a row to Dunkirk, the only two blemishes now on its record after having started the season 7-0.
The Warriors recorded just two hits and scored just two runs — both coming in the sixth, and final inning of play — against the Marauders, whose consistent offense only continued to punish the visitors.
Kruz Coustenis tallied the only two hits for Salamanca.

BRADFORD, PA – Consistent bats and impressive pitching lifted the Lady Owls to their third win in a row, dominating Kane in just four innings.
Along with her seven Ks in the circle, Daisy Greene also finished perfect at the plate, going 2-for-2 with three runs scored. Alyssa Johnson also was flawless in the batters’ box, finishing 3-for-3 with four RBIs. Bella Zandy drove in three runs with two hits, Mackenzie Taylor drove in two while crossing home plate three times and Jackie Sipko hit one RBI on a 1-for-2 day at the plate.

SHINGLEHOUSE, PA – The Lady Terrors continue to dominate their schedule, increasing their current win streak to 11 with a season sweep of the Lady Green Wave.
O-E’s lead would be cemented in the second frame, when Jahden Smith, Rayel Hakes and Brooklyn Pearce combined for four RBIs. Smith would also score on an OV error while Pearce would steal home. To wrap things up, the Terrors would cap the night off with four more runs in the final frame.
Smith ended 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two more driven in. Hakes finished 1-for-3 with a pair of runs and a pair of RBIs while eight other Lady Terrors would cross home plate during the win.

PORTVILLE, NY – A strong start, middle and end gave the Panthers their third win of the year as they took down the Timberwolves.
Aidan DeFazio finished flawlessly at the plate, tallying four hits in four appearances and driving in two runs. DeFazio also scored a team-high four times while Brady German scored three times on a 1-for-3 day in the batters’ box. Braedon Carter went 1-for-2 with two runs and Ty Kosinksi ended 1-for-4 with two RBIs, one run scored and six strikeouts through seven innings on the mound.

SALAMANCA, NY — The Salamanca boys and girls track and field teams officially debuted their new facilities.
After spending its last season without a true “home” track, the Warriors now have a state-of-the-art facility to call their own. And what better way to kick off a new era for Salamanca track and field than with wins over West Valley.
The Salamanca boys team was led to a 89-50 win by Jackson Oram, who recorded three individual, first-place finishes in the 110 hurdles, long jump and triple jump. His result in the latter of the three was good enough to move him into ninth in the school’s top-10 in the event.
Camron Bowser sprinted his way to a first-place finish in the 100m and a second-place finish in the 200m. Perry Winship finished first in the 200m and tied his PR in the high jump for a second-place finish. Jack Merrill recorded a seven-second PR in the 400m hurdles which was good for a first-place finish while Mason Brewer and Evan Spruce finished the night with two individual first places apiece.
Easton Chudy racked up three second-place finishes in the 110 hurdles, triple jump and pole vault. Aiden George finished second in the 1,600m and Payton Bigler recorded a four-second PR in the 800m, which moved him up to ninth on the school’s top-10 in the event.
“It truly could not have been a better night for track and field for our season’s home-opener,” Salamanca boys track and field coach Michelle Hill said.
As for the Salamanca girls team, it finished with an even wider margin of victory as it took down West Valley 118-22.
Izabella Milks led the girls team as a quadruple, individual event-winner, claiming the top spot in the high jump, triple jump, long jump and 200m. Her tallies in the triple jump and high jump both made the Section 6 provisional mark.
Behind her, Ryanna Brady won the 1,500m and the 3,000m and Jamila Nelthrope won the 100m hurdles and the 100m, both surpassing the Section 6 provisional mark in their respective events.
Aubrey Domres swept the throws and threw a Section 6 standard in the discus, a distance that also put her seventh in Salamanca’s top-10 in the event.
Other event winners for the Warriors were Gabriella Bly in the 800m, Summer Downey in the 400m hurdles and Leilene McComber in the 400m
Salamanca also swept the relays, with the 400m relay team of Rhiannon Chase, Downey, McComber, and Nelthrope setting a sectional qualifying time.
