November 26, 1969 – April 16, 2025

Olean, NY William J. Webster, 55, passed away Wednesday (April 16, 2025) with his loving family by his side, after a courageous 16 year battle with metastatic head and neck cancer.

Born November 26, 1969 in Friendship, NY. On December 5, 1998 he married Amy L. White, who survives. Billy was a graduate of Friendship High School in 1988. He worked as a truck driver for UPS for over 31 years, where he proudly drove the Olean area route for 20 years.

Billy was someone who never met a stranger, one conversation with him, and he never forgot your name. It was always more than a job to him, he made life-long friends and lasting relationships with many of his customers. Billy was an avid fan of the Buffalo Bills and a dedicated Kid Rock fan, who never missed an opportunity to attend his concerts. This past February, despite his illness, Bill was able to accomplish his last wish of traveling to Nashville, TN with his family and friends to Kid Rock’s Honkey Tonk Bar and experience Broadway Street. Bill’s favorite time was spent at his home on Wolf Run, taking care of his lawn, and playing corn hole and cooking out with his friends and family.

Billy was always the life of the party. He had an amazing sense of humor, a million dollar smile, a sarcastic wit and an innate ability to make you laugh, even if you were the brunt of his joke. He wouldn’t hesitate to break out in song or start dancing in the middle of a restaurant just to get a rise out of you or to break up the tension in a room. He had a tough exterior and a heart of gold.

Billy fought this horrible disease on and off for 16 years. His commitment to battle never waivered because of the dedication and love he had for his family and his desire to see his children grow into adulthood. He endured more than most could or would ever tolerate and he never gave up. His fight ended when there was no other medical option. Bill was a warrior who chose to endure the pain of extensive treatment to spare his family the pain of his loss. He will be remembered as a man with an iron will to live and a strength like no other.

His strength was fueled by the fierce love and commitment of his wife, children, siblings and friends. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his 4 children, Brian Green of Olean, Samantha Webster of Cuba, Zachary Webster and Logan Webster of Olean; his siblings Rick (Renee) Chauncey of Stratum, NH, Gary (Amanda) Chauncey of Leominster, MA, Lisa (Connie) Webster of Jamestown, and Stephanie Nelson of Olean and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother in law, Lynne M. (Tunie) White in 2003.

The family will receive friends for visitation only on Saturday (April 19, 2025) from 1 pm to 4 pm at the Casey, Halwig and Hartle Funeral Home, 3128 West State Road, Olean. Memorials, if desired, may be made in memory of Bill Webster to: Roswell Park Alliance Foundation P.O. Box 631 Buffalo, New York 14240
