ULYSSES, PA – A mix of consistent and clutch hitting carried the Otto-Eldred baseball team to their first win of the season, beating Allegany Mountain League opponent Northern Potter 12-6.
The Terrors got on the board first with back-to-back doubles from the Splain brothers. Manning Splain hit first, making it to second on a fly ball to right field before Macaibe hit a double to left field, driving in the first run of the day. From there, O-E doubled down with four more scores in the top of the second. Loading the bases, Manning Splain stepped up once again, hitting another double that came with two runs scored. Jaden Prince would do the same two batters later, giving the Terrors a 5-0 lead early.
O-E would end the game just as they started it, scoring runs in all of the three final frames, including another four in the top of the sixth.
Manning Splain would end two-for-4 with three runs scored and two more batted in. Wyatt Bledinger ended 3-for-5 with two runs and three RBIs while Prince recorded two runs and two RBIs on a 2-for-5 day in the batters’ box. Prince also tallied three strikeouts during five innings on the mound.

BRADFORD, PA – The Owls’ losing streak grew to three with a loss at home to the Crusaders.
Playing at Callahan Field, Bradford’s bats remained cold through the early innings and while their defense held ECC early, it was only a matter of time before they broke the seal. After finding themselves down 4-0 in the bottom of the fifth, the Owls managed to muster some momentum with a pair of scores from Tarren Reese and Brody Haviland.
Reese went 2-for-3 in the loss while Haviland went 1-for-3.
In the midst of a nine-games-in-13-days stretch, Bradford will play again on Saturday morning in the consolation game of the Allegany-Limestone tournament.
