Marlene “Tooty” Woodgie, Loving Mother, Grandmother and Aunt

Marlene “Tooty” Woodgie, of Olean, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2024, at The Pines of Olean, surrounded by her loving family, after a short illness.

Tooty was born in Olean on November 18, 1938. She was the daughter of the late John and Lula Evans Ferrio.

Tooty graduated from Olean High School in 1957 and worked as a secretary for Olean Wholesale. She liked line dancing with Slick and Sassy, and Spirit in Motion. Tooty enjoyed shopping and going out to dinner with friends. She was known for her sense of humor and making people happy.

Tooty is survived by her daughters, Julie (James) Williams and Mary (Kelly) Karst; 7 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren; a sister, Sue (Dennis) Haught, several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, John and Lula, and six siblings: Marilyn Harvey, Loretta Morgan, Diane Taylor, Janis Brockel, Roland Ferrio, Nancy Ferrio, and Corrine Kenyon.

A celebration of Tooty’s life will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
