Joan Marie Nannen-Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother
ALLEGANY – Joan Marie Nannen, 89, of Allegany, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2026, after a brief illness.
Born Aug. 29, 1937, in Little Valley, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Catherine Lecceardone. She and her husband Jerome Nannen of Ellicottville shared 62 wonderful years together.
Joan was a Registered Nurse who spent many years caring for the Franciscan Sisters of Allegany at St. Elizabeth Motherhouse. She touched the hearts of everyone she met and was known for her kindness, generosity and sense of humor. She was an avid gardener and birdwatcher and was a lifetime fan of Elvis.
Joan is survived by her children, Jay (Patty) Nannen of Fairport, NY, Brad (Sandy) Nannen of Young Harris, GA., Eric Nannen of Allegany, NY and Brian Nannen of Hamburg, NY; grandchildren, Justin (Melissa) Foster, Joshua Foster, Jerrica Foster, Jake (Alice) Nannen, Erin Nannen, Kaitlyn (Tom) Budzynski, Wes (Nina) Nannen, Katie (Carson) Braswell and Robert (Dawn) Rogers; many great-grandchildren and her sister in law Susie (Bill) Ploetz of Olean, NY.
She was predeceased by her husband Jerome, daughter Beth (James) Foster of Coudersport, PA., and brothers Rodney, Richard and Robert Lecceardone of Little Valley, NY.
Joan’s funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, September 18, 11am at St. Bonaventure Church in Allegany, NY with burial to follow at St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Allegany.
