ST. BONAVENTURE — A Silent Auction to complement the Empty Bowls & Baskets Dinner on Thursday, Sept. 26, at St. Bonaventure’s Richter Center is now live.

Proceeds from the dinner and Silent Auction will directly benefit the newly established Endowment for Warming House Sustainability, ensuring that the Warming House can continue serving those in need for years to come.

The Warming House, located on North Union Street in Olean, is the oldest student-run soup kitchen in the nation, celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

The online auction, which can be found here, features a variety of exclusive handmade items, including a quilt handsewn by President Jeff Gingerich’s mother and a very special painting by the late Fr. Dan Riley, OMF. People need to create a profile to be allowed to bid.

Other items to be auctioned include:

• A one-week stay (10,000 points) at a Hilton Timeshare.

  • A one-week stay in 2025 at an Irish Cottage by the sea
  • An off-season week at a Chautauqua Institution condo
  • $100 gift certificates to Dina’s and The Banq in Ellicottville
  • A Splash Lagoon family vacation in Erie
  • Dinner for six at President and Betsy Gingerich’s home
  • A signed jersey from Bills LB Matt Milano
  • Quick Center tickets to every show in the 2024-25 season
  • A chef-prepared dinner for six

Registration for the dinner, which starts at 6 p.m., has been extended; people can REGISTER HERE. Tickets are $75.
