BOYS SWIM & DIVE

Frewsburg 106, Olean 59

Frewsburg — After some early-season chaos involving three cancelled meets, the Olean boys swim team had its first meet of the season, a loss to Frewsburg.

Kai Warner and Johnson Li were the only Huskies to have grabbed event wins, doing so in 1-meter diving and the 100 breaststroke respectively. And while not having notched a win, Olean coach Daniel Brown credited Nolan Wilczewski with having an excellent showing at the meet, “posting three of four lifetime-best swims.”

Olean finished with nine second-place finishes as well.

“I thought we had a very good first meet of the season,” Brown said. “Frewsburg is by far one of the best teams in Section 6. Most of our veterans swam well and our newer swimmers and divers had the opportunity to experience their first swim meet. Our team showed a lot of resolve and determination.”
