LITTLE VALLEY — The 14th annual WILMA Woolly Bear Weekend will showcase local businesses, manufacturers, artisans and crafters Saturday and Sunday at the Cattaraugus County Fairgrounds.
The Cattaraugus County Department of Economic Development, Planning and Tourism hosts the annual event to promote “shop local” and “buy local” just ahead of the holiday season.
The Corporate Building and Domestic Building will be filled with handmade items by local artisans and manufacturers.
It’s not your average craft show!
WILMA is a family-oriented event showcasing items handmade or manufactured in Cattaraugus County by talented local artisans and manufacturers. Admission is free for the public. Businesses contribute through a minimal registration fee, which is pooled for door prizes in the form of WILMA bucks. The first 50 attendees on Saturday and the first 25 on Sunday will receive $5 in WILMA bucks. Plus, on Saturday, there will be three drawings: $75, $50, and $25 in WILMA bucks.
There will be special events throughout the weekend including a winter weather prediction by “WILMA” the Woolly Bear Caterpillar — maybe you’ll even get to hold her!
There will also be Chinese auction raffles, cider, donuts and more. It is open Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
WILMA is all indoors and is a rain or shine event.
