BRADFORD, PA – Sealing the game with a walk-off two-out steal of home, Braylan Austin helped secure the Bradford baseball team’s second consecutive win as they kept their playoff hopes alive with a 6-5 over Brockway.
Through the first three frames, the Owls and Rovers duked it out with scattered bat barrages. After taking an initial 4-0 lead after two, Bradford saw their cushion evaporate as Brockway’s bats came alive, tallying five. Those runs would go unanswered until the bottom of the seventh, when Jackson Peterson rattled off a hard-hit grounder that scored Lucas Wallace. With the bases loaded, Austin put the weight of the game on his shoulder, seeing a passed ball and seizing his opportunity. Closing the last 90 feet, his walk-off steal put the Owls on top for good, earning their fifth win of the season.
Wallace ended with a team-high three hits in four trips to the plate, scoring twice and recording one RBI. Brody Haviland went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs while Austin finished 1-for-3 with two runs scored.
Playing under a 0.500 rule and with just four games left on the docket, the Owls are up against a wall, needing to come out on top of each of their last contests. First, Bradford will see Warren, Port Allegany and Oswayo Valley at home on Friday, Monday and Wednesday, before completing their regular season on Thursday, May 14 against Smethport.

JAMESTOWN, NY – In a pitcher’s duel, it was Allegany-Limestone’s Kailey Truman that prevailed.
Racking up 14 strikeouts to just three walks and three hits, she was able to keep Southwestern off the board in a low-scoring affair that required a strong performance in the circle.
The Gators did not have a much better day at the plate, only connecting for four hits. But critical errors from the Trojans helped their offense. All three runs A-L scored came on the back of errors from the hosts.
