DUKE CENTER, PA — After falling behind early, the Otto-Eldred girl’s basketball team failed to strike a comeback, instead losing to DuBois Central Catholic 52-33, the first time the Lady Terrors have lost back-to-back games in over a year.
At first, O-E kept in stride with the 4-1 Lady Cardinals, entering the second quarter knotted at nine. However, DCC then took control. Outscoring the Lady Terrors 22-5, they built a 17-point advantage entering halftime.
Although O-E responded with a 15-point third quarter, led mostly by work at the free throw line, they managed to narrow the gap by only four points. With one quarter to go, their offense once again fell back into a rut, scoring just four points to the Lady Cardinal’s 10.
Jahden Smith led O-E with eight points, followed by Ayla Van Scoter’s seven and Rayel Hakes’ five.

Salamanca 51, Franklinville 43
SALAMANCA, NY — Led by Ella Crouse’s and Liana Jimerson’s combined 28 points, as well as a flurry of deep shots in the second half, the Warriors edged out a comeback win for their third straight victory in a row.
Out of the gates, Salamanca’s offense struggled to connect on their shots as only three Warriors entered the scoring column through the first eight minutes of play. Although their own defense slowed the Eagles, the Warriors still looked up at a four-point deficit entering the break.
Then the 3-pointers began to fall. In the third alone, Salamanca knocked down four shots from beyond the arc, two from Crouse and two from Jimerson. Outscoring Franklinville 18-11, the Warriors eked out a narrow lead with just eight minutes left to play. There, they sealed the game with another pair of triples – one from Crouse and one from Kynleigh Wass – alongside solid work at the charity stripe.
Hitting a game-high four 3-pointers throughout the win, Crouse ended with 14 points while Jimerson, who hit three triples, also tallied 14 points. Maliyah Foster followed closely behind with 11 while Wass contributed seven.
