OLEAN, NY — For their first CCAA Div. I games of the season, the Olean and Allegany-Limestone boys basketball teams wrote another chapter in their storied rivalry.
In this most recent installment, the battle would fall the way of the Huskies.
However, the better start to the game belonged to the Gators. They held a narrow 16-11 lead after the first frame as Ryan Callen and Nolan O’Brien combined for 11 quick points. Unfortunately, the wheels wound up falling off after the first quarter for A-L. Olean kept its guests scoreless for the entirety of the second frame, putting itself in prime position to control the rest of the affair.
Mykel Rivera’s 22 points on nine field goals paced the Huskies in the victory. Taylor Teachman aided in the win with 12 points.
Callen led the Gators with 15 points with Tayden Margeson adding 10 points to the visitor’s tally.
With the win, Olean moved to 2-1 on the year with its second consecutive win. Meanwhile, Allegany-Limestone fell to 1-2.
