DAYTON, OH — Over the course of the season, the St. Bonaventure men’s soccer team has shown it has what it takes to fight.

Its narrow 6-5 defeat to then-No.24 ranked George Mason stands as a testament to that. So, after conceding early to Dayton’s Ethan Sassine in its penultimate road game of the season, it came time to fight back once again.

Kyle Macfarlane and Avery Dreasky scored consecutive goals for the Bonnies, 10 minutes on either side of halftime, respectively to give the visitors a 2-1 lead. Unfortunately, a goal from Braden Seel knotted up the affair in favor of the Flyers.

Neither side were able to find the winner in the final half hour of the contest, so the points were split.

Felix Schöne made four saves for the Bonnies.

WOMENS SOCCER

Dayton 6, St. Bonaventure 0

DAYTON, OH — The St. Bonaventure women’s soccer team suffered a lopsided defeat on the road at Dayton, its eighth consecutive loss.

The Flyers saw six different players get on the scoresheet, but Lauren Fields’ goal in the fifth minute was all that split the sides at the break. However, it did not take long after the intermission for the hosts to get their offense up and running again. Liv Grenda scored just shy of four minutes on the other side of the break and was followed up by goals from Ky Hau-Golden, Olivia Baca, Emery Aschenbrener and Molly Russell.

Adelaide Paredes (six) and Juliana Castellano (one) combined for seven saves for the Bonnies.
