SALAMANCA — Bouncing back from a narrow league loss last time out, the Olean baseball team managed to get its offense going late in a 7-0 shutout of Salamanca.

Through three full innings the Huskies and Warriors were deadlocked and scoreless. The former, looking to continue making strides up the CCAA Div. I table late in the season, the latter, looking to put an end to its losing streak.

And all it took for Olean was one run to break things open.

The Huskies’ bats came alive and managed to bring in at least a run in each of the final four innings of the game, scoring five between the sixth and seventh frames, to push the game beyond the reach of their hosts, who struggled at the plate.

The Warriors only connected for two hits — one apiece by Jacob Herrick and Zach Trietley  — on Olean’s Taylor Teachman, who threw a complete game, striking out and walking five apiece in the win.

Chase Vogtli led Olean’s offense, going 2-for-3 with two runs, an RBI and two walks.
