COUDERSPORT, PA – Losing their fourth game in a row and third consecutive league game, the Otto-Eldred baseball team fell to Coudersport 8-2 as they were eliminated from playoff contention.
Facing the second best team in the Allegheny Mountain League, the Terrors would have to practice patients as hits were hard to come by early on. While they would initially hold of the Falcons, Coudy was able to take the lead in the third off a Mason Roessner RBI single. O-E would retaliate in the fourth with the help of Landon Francis’ single that brought in Ryan Schenfield, however, the Falcons remained hot and tacked on a pair of runs the next time at bat.
Continuing to carry their momentum, Coudy would tally multiple runs in the next three frames as they built up a lead. The Terrors, on the other hand, were withheld from the scoreboard until the final inning, when Jared Obenrader and Jaden Prince earned spots on base before Schenfield drove in their second run of the night. Ultimately, it was not enough as O-E was quickly dispatched one batter later.
Schenfield ended 3-for-4 with one run scored and one run batted in while Obenrader ended 2-for-4. Francis (1-for-4), Manning Splain (1-for-4) and Prince (1-for-2) all tallied hits in their final road game of the season.
With their dreams of a postseason push dashed, O-E aims to finish out their season on a high note, returning home for their final game of the season against Cameron County. That contest is scheduled for Saturday at 10 a.m.
