BRADFORD, PA — In his final time competing at home, Brayden Frair rose to the Senior Night occasion, not only grabbing four first places in the Bradford boys track and field teams’ 128-22 win over Elk county Catholic, but also by placing his name in the record books once again.
Competing in the 800 meter dash, the senior set the school record with a time of 1:55.9, elevating himself over Aziz Yousif’s decade-old watermark. With this accomplishment, Frair now holds school records in the 800 meter, 1,600 meter, 3,200 meter, one mile and 2,000 meter steeplechase.
“It was business as usual for Brayden,” said Bradford head coach Tom Tessena. “He is a special guy.”
Along with a win in the 800, Frair’s quadruple win saw first place finishes in the 1,600 meter (4:50.4) and both the 4×400 and 4×800 relays. Logan Kohler also quadrupled, winning the 110 meter high hurdles (15.84), the 300 meter intermediate hurdles (41.03, a personal best), the 200 meter dash (23.36) and on the 4×100 relay team alongside Enzo Aiello, Jeremiah Long and Fabian Sherk in a season best time of 45.39. Aiello won the pole Vault (12-6) while Long won the 100M(12.0).
Kadyn Tessena, who also competed in the 4×800 and 4×400 relay team, earned silver in the 400 meter dash (54.71, a personal best) and the 200 meter dash (25.18). Joe Caruso won the 3,200 meter dash while Marasco, who was a part of the winning 4×400 relay team, tripled with wins in the 400 meter dash (52.86, a personal best) and the long jump (21-1.5).
Out in the field, the Owls came alive with wins in the pole vault (Aiello 12-6), javelin (Andrew Giordano 151-11), shot put (Giordano 40-7) and the discus (Joe Cary 118-0).
Ahead of the competition, Bradford recognized their four seniors, Frair, Cary, Caruso and Dom Dac Pos, all of whom were four year athletes.
“These guys were great representatives for the Bradford School District, their team, and their parents,” said Tom Tessena. “Today was definitely a step in the right direction. We just have to keep working and improving.”
