SHINGLEHOUSE, PA – With a big push in the top of the seventh, the Bradford softball team added another win to their record, beating Oswayo Valley 9-3.

The Lady Owls entered Friday’s contest off the back of their worst loss all season, being shut out to St. Marys 12-0 in four innings. With the sting still fresh in their minds, Bradford got right to work, scoring a pair of runs in the inaugural inning. The first came from Mackenzie Tayor, who daringly stole home before Sarah Cox did the same on a wild pitch one batter later.

While the Lady Green Wave answered with one of their own, Bradford doubled down with three more in the third frame, of which OV once again responded. For the next three frames, neither squad could repeat their earlier success and with one last inning to play, the outcome was still to be decided.

In the top of the seventh, however, Bradford got off to a strong start, cashing in on three consecutive walks to load the bases. With no outs, Cox drove in two Lady Owls with a two-run RBI single before Taylor scored on a sacrifice pop fly. Finally, Daisy Greene reached on an error that allowed Cox to score the final nail. OV, on the other hand, had finally run out of answers, instead going three-and-out in the game-sealing seventh.

Cox led the pack with two runs scored and two more batted in during a 1-for-3 day at the plate. Mallory Craig and Taylor also both rounded home plate twice while Adilynn Brown and Jackie Sipko both scored once.
