ELDRED, PA – Mason Schenfield’s game-saving RBI single in the bottom of the sixth would hold off Northern Potter, giving the Otto-Eldred baseball team a 5-4 win as they improved to 3-3.

After two scoreless innings, the Terrors took charge with a big surge in the third. Manning Splain would reach first off a single, then advance to second on a NoPo error before Jaden Prince brought him home with a double. Putting two men on base thereafter, O-E went up 3-0 off back-to-back walks.

Holding the Panthers scoreless and adding one more run in the fourth, the Terrors hoped to cruise to another Allegheny Mountain League win. However, NoPo would spring to life in the sixth. After suffering the first out on the first batter, the Panthers successfully loaded the bases with two walks and a single. They would then bring in two runs on two hit batters before a two-run RBI single from William Nicholas tied the game up at four.

Following a third out via strikeout, Otto-Eldred would put two men on base with a walk and single. With only one out, Mason Schenfield put the Terrors back in front with a grounder to right field, driving in Splain. O-E would hold onto the lead, as well as a win, with three consecutive outs in the top of the seventh.

Wyatt Blendinger would lead O-E with two hits in three appearances, being one of five Terrors to tally an RBI in the win. Splain ended 1-for-2 with two runs while Macaide Splain rounded home plate twice as well.

The game against NoPo marked the start of a three-game-three-day homestand. On Wednesday, O-E will host Port Allegany before Smethport rolls into town on Thursday. Both games are slated for 4:30 p.m.
