DAVIDSON, NC — As the St. Bonaventure women’s basketball team gets set to face Davidson for the second time on the season, it will be looking to avenge the 83-45 loss it suffered at home.

The last time the Bonnies and Wildcats squared off, it was a death by a thousand cuts with 13 different Davidson players getting on the scoresheet and combining to hand what was Bona’s third straight loss at the time. Charlise Dunn and Mallorie Haines led the Wildcats with 17 and 15 points in that affair, respectively.

In that game, the Bonnies were led by Zoe Shaw’s 13 points and Dani Haskell’s 10 points.

Bona will look to score a big win on the road to put an end to its nine-game losing streak. But in order to do so it will need to keep Dunn and Haines quiet along with Katie Donovan and Issy Morgan. Dunn leads the Wildcats in scoring with 12.3 points per game with Donovan and Morgan right behind her, averaging 10.3 and 10.0 apiece.

Bona will also need big performances from its stars. The scoring of Haskell and Shaw will, of course, be a necessity as they have been the main sources of points for the Bonnies this season. But they will also require big games from the likes of Caitlin Frost and Hannah Richardson.

Frost has been the go-to presence in the paint for Bona this season and has had her moments in the spotlight, but she will look to get back to scoring double figures at Davidson after not having done so in her past three games. Richardson’s development since the first time she faced Davidson has been massive for coach Jim Crowley and Co. Her ability to back down a defender but also knock down a 3-pointer has made her a big threat in recent weeks.

St. Bonaventure will tip-off at Davidson on Feb. 16 at 1 p.m. in the John M. Belk Arena.
