Shouldering the load of the day with a combined seven first place finishes, the Bradford boy’s track and field top trio helped the Owls to an overwhelming win on Tuesday.
Logan Kohler led the pack, finding four wins on the day. Sweeping the hurdles, he took gold in the 110 high hurdles at 14.72 and in the 300 hurdles at 38.92. Kohler also took first as a part of both the 4×100 meter relay — 43.86 — and the 4×400 meter relay — 3:30.02, the fastest time of the year. Running alongside Kohler in the 4×100 was Fabian Sherk, Tyler Simmons and Enzo Aiello, who all also had good days on the track.
Sherk tripled during Bradford’s win, earning first in the long jump (22-3) and the triple jump (42-9.5) while Simmons took two silvers finishes in the 100 meter dash (11:12) and in the high jump (6-0). Danny Marasco and Kadyn Tessena, who were a part of the winning 4×400 meter relay team, found themselves standing on the podium by day’s end as well. Marasco took third in both the long jump (20-2) and the 400 meter dash (52.31), while Tessena recorded a personal best in the 800 meter dash (2:03.15) and took silver as a part of the 4×800 meter relay team.
Andrew Giordano earned a personal best in the shot put, throwing a first-place worthy attempt at 47-3.5 and also taking third in the javelin at 161-3. Konnor Phillips was right behind him in the shot put for third at 40-10.5 while Aiello placed second in the pole vault at 13-0.
Placing in every event, the Owls won the day, besting a field of eight competitors with a high score of 125.
