KANE, PA – After finding an early advantage, the Port United girl’s soccer team white-knuckeled their way to the team’s second win of the season, beating Kane 1-0.
In the second minute of their Saturday showing against the Lady Wolves, Port’s Alyssa Pelchy punched in her first goal of the season thanks to an assist from Kylee Pelchy. From there, the Lady Gator’s defense held strong, including from Dana Clark in the net, who came away with nine saves in the clean sheet win.
Going forward, Port will see a brief hiatus before getting back to work on Thursday when they host Brookville at 4:30 p.m.
Allegany-Limestone 3, Olean 0
ALLEGANY, NY – Seeing their home field for the first time this season, the Gators notched their first win of the season with a lop-sided win over the Huskies.
Receiving a pass from Peyton Truman, Kai Wojewoda-Ko punched in the first goal of the afternoon in just the seventh minute. To close out the half, the A-L went up 2-0 off a goal from Leea Kopp to put the Gators up 2-0 and while a lull followed after, lasting until the final moments of the game, A-L scored once more off a shot from Kendall Lemon.
Logan Potter ended with two assists as the Gators improved to 1-1 while starting goalkeeper Meagan Morgan saw one shot and made one save. Olean’s goalie, Alaina Hirliman, saw 23 shots and came away with 20 saves.
Fairview 4, Bradford 1
FAIRVIEW, PA – Miley Swanson tallied her first goal of the season during the Lady Owls road loss to the Lady Tigers.
Swanson’s goal came off of a pass from Alyssa Mangold while Adeline Meyer came away with three saves.
After a two-day rest, Bradford returns home for their Tuesday meeting with Brockway. That game is slated for a 7 p.m. start.

Port United 0, Kane 0 Draw
KANE, PA – After two full halves, neither the Gators nor the Wolves could find a way into the back of the net, leaving both to walk off the pitch empty-handed.
In goal, Jimmy Sneed had eight saves for Port United.
The Gators (0-1-1) will stay on the road for their next match, traveling to see Northern Potter on Tuesday for their first North Tier League game of the season.
