OLEAN — A joint task force of federal and state law enforcement made two fugitive arrests in Olean Thursday morning.

Social media posts suggested the enforcement involved ICE agents looking for undocumented immigrants.

The Fugitive Task Force is made up of federal agents and members of the New York State Police, according to a source at the Olean Police Department. The task force has come to Olean before seeking fugitives they believed to be in the city and sought backup from police.

One arrest was made at a home on Main Street near the bridge over Olean Creek and another was made at a home on Third Avenue, according to the source.

The Olean Star provided contact information to Olean Police to relay to the task force for comment, but no return call was received by Friday morning.
