PUNXSUTAWNEY, PA – Failing to find a way past the Chucks’ ace, the Owls suffered their second consecutive loss as they fell below 0.500.
Coming off a game where their bats refused to warm up, Bradford’s struggles at the plate carried over as they traveled to Punxsutawney. Through the first three frames, the Owls were put out in their opening 11 batters, only finding their first hit of the day in the fourth. Meanwhile, Punxsy shook off two empty innings for five runs in the third and fourth, quickly pulling away. Despite collecting a handful of hits through the back half of the night, the Owls were unable to close the gap. Their lone run of the evening came in the seventh, when Lucas Wallace rattled off the first Bradford home run of the season.
Wallace finished with two hits in three trips to the batters’ box, followed by Jamin Bell, who went 2-for-2. Ben Woodhouse and Braylon Austin also collected one hit in the Owls’ third loss of the season.
