SHINGLEHOUSE, PA – Playing their last of two final North Tier League games, the Port Allegany boy’s basketball team took one more step towards securing the banner, beating Oswayo Valley 43-22.

With the rest of the league falling in place, all the Gators had to do was win out, starting with a road trip to meet the Green Wave. Offense came early for Port in the form of four 3-pointers from Chase Boyd and Nick Wilfong, who each hit a pair. As the game continued, they made the most of their chances at the free throw line and built a double-digit lead with one quarter to go.

Jarrod Funk ended with a game-high 14 points alongside 13 rebounds and one steal, while Isac Amell came away with 10 points, six rebounds and two blocks.

After a non-league contest against Eisenhower on Monday, the Gators will have the chance to be officially crowned the NTL champions with a home game against Northern Potter. That regular-season closer is scheduled for Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
