GALETON, PA – Shaking off back-to-back losses, the Otto-Eldred girl’s basketball team righted their ship with a dominating 36-7 win over Galeton.
Coming off losses against Northern Potter and DuBois Central Catholic last week, the former of which came as a blemish on their North Tier League record, the Lady Terrors were eager to tee off and find their rhythm against the Lady Tigers.
Holding Galeton virtually scoreless for the first 16 minutes of play, O-E sealed the game early. Scoring by committee, the Lady Terrors pulled away 13-0 in the first before an 18-point second quarter packed the lead securely. With that in mind, O-E closed out the game with several reserve players gaining game-time experience in the final half.
Ayla Van Scoter led the Lady Terrors with seven points, also recording three steals and three rebounds while Rayel Hakes also had three steals along with her four points and five rebounds. Tori Bickford, Baylee Francis and Kylie Irons all had six points while Kayla Edminster’s three points was joined by five rebounds.

Port Allegany 31, Austin 30
AUSTIN, PA – Brynn Evens’ clutch fourth quarter sealed the Lady Gators’ third NTL game of the season as they narrowly edged out the Lady Panthers.
Out of the gates, both teams battled back-and-forth, with Port coming away with a slim margin entering halftime. However, taking to the court for the second half, the Lady Gators’ offense tired, tacking on just three points through the next eight minutes. Meanwhile, Kadence McKeirnan and Cailyn Ogden led Austin back into contention, scoring all eight of their third-quarter points to take a lead with one quarter remaining.
With the game on the line, Evens took the reins. Knocking down Port’s lone 3-pointer of the contest, her work on the floor rallied the Lady Gators to a 14-9 scoring quarter over Austin. Working in tandem, Port’s defense maintained control, refusing to allow a Lady Panther shot for the final 30 seconds. Sealing the win, Jenna Renner came up with a clutch steal with just nine seconds left, dribbling out the clock and finalizing the win.
Renner ended with a team-high 13 points, also tallying eight rebounds and seven steals. Evens scored nine of her 11 points in the fourth quarter, including the go-ahead layup with 30 seconds remaining, while also ripping down seven rebounds, recording four steals and four blocks.

Northern Potter 43, Smethport 32
SMETHPORT, PA – Despite a late eruption from Madey McKean, the Lady Hubbers fell short of completing a comeback, dropping their third league loss of the season.
After trailing by 11 points entering the final quarter, Smethport’s offense fell on the shoulders of McKean. Having led the Lady Hubbers in scoring already, tallying 10 points in the first two quarters, she rattled off six points before shaky work at the free throw line cut the momentum short. Her efforts ultimately cut the lead to single digits, but NoPo ultimately cruised to victory in hostile territory.
McKean ended with a double-double, scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds, also coming away with a pair of steals. Payton Neff had seven points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals.
