THURSDAY ROUNDUP: Union Whiskey claims victory in OWSL; Olean 1854 FC falls in lopsided affair

OLEAN, NY — One four-run inning made all the difference for Union Whiskey as it was able to pull out a 9-5 victory over Misfits.

Jenna Hadley led the way for Union Whiskey, recording two hits and two RBI on the night. Grace Wood, Aliyah Cole, Harley Ficek and Emily Horth each tallied two hits while Mandy Martin contributed a hit in the win as well.

For Misfits, Raelynn George recorded a game-high three hits.

Parkwood 12, Murdocks 0 (5 innings)

OLEAN, NY — Scoring 11 runs between the second and third innings, Parkwood was able to grab a big shutout win over Murdocks.

Miranda Ruffner led the way in the victory, recording a double and 5 RBI. Marissa Olson tacked on a double and three RBI, Avery DeFazio finished with two RBI and Kali Abdo rounded out Parkwood’s scoring with an RBI as well.

Jess Baca, Amie Slater and Jess Stellrecht recorded a hit apiece in the loss.

Smethport VFW 9, Hangry Pitches 3

OLEAN, NY — Karly Welty and Mallory Welty’s 3-for-4 days at the plate powered Smethport VFW to a win over Hangry Pitches.

Inga Welty, Molly Kate McCullough and Amber Nelson provided support in the win as well with 2-for-4 stat lines.

Bamboo Strategy 24, Shamrocks 11

OLEAN, NY — Bamboo Strategy pulled away from Shamrocks when it mattered most, scoring 11 runs in the seventh inning and claiming victory in an extremely high-scoring affair.

Amber Mohr (2 RBI) and Devin Ralston (5 RBI) each went 4-for-5 in the win. Ashley Colley (HR, 3 RBI), Heather Lundy (2 RBI) and Hailey Kellogg (RBI) added three hits apiece.

Meg Sizemore, Kimberly Stebbins and Tricia Moore each had three hits for Shamrocks.

716 Fitness 15, Pink Ladies 3

OLEAN, NY — Perfect days at the plate from Elizabeth Owens (4-for-4), Michelle Cisco (4-for-4) and Tiffany Worthington (3-for-3) propelled 716 Fitness to a comfortable win over Pink Ladies.

Bree Garzel went 3-for-4 with two triples in the win as well.

Ann Confer and Tierney Hemphill went 3-for-3 and 2-for-2, respectively, in the loss.

Parkwood 19, Mickey’s 9

OLEAN, NY — Behind a staggering 29 hits, Parkwood collected their second win of the day, defeating Mickey’s.

Jen Olson, Miranda Ruffner (2 RBI) and Ash Brown (3 RBI) each went 4-for-5 in the victory. Brigette Sarber added three RBI on three hits for Parkwood as well.

Eva West (2 RBI) and Jamielyn Gibbons (2 RBI) both finished 3-for-4 in the loss.

Amherst Sharpshooters 6, Olean 1854 FC 1

BUFFALO, NY — For the first time this season, Olean 1854 FC dropped a second consecutive game, falling to the Amherst Sharpshooters in a lopsided affair.

In a rescheduled game in which Olean had just enough numbers to play, Amherst ran away with the scoreline. Jason Harris found the back of the net twice for the Sharpshooters with Reilly Boyer, Logan Diebold, Brendan Lawler and Riley Wagner getting in on the action as well.

Eric Spring scored the lone goal of the game for the Roughnecks.
