SALAMANCA — With the end of the academic year fast approaching, Salamanca High School has announced the recipients of its Athlete of the Year Awards as well as the honorees of the Warrior Pride Character and Courage Awards.

Claiming the Lou Foy Male Athlete of the Year Award was Maddox Isaac.
A three-sport athlete, Isaac helped lead the Salamanca football team to a New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) Semifinal and Final in back-to-back seasons, was named the Upstate Football Player of the Year, a Big 30 All-Star, the Class C South Player of the Year, the WNY Athletics Most Improved Player, and was featured by the National Football League for the “Way to Play” Award.
He is also the program’s career record holder for all-purpose yards, rushing touchdowns, passing attempts/completions/yards/touchdowns, points scored and overall touchdowns.
As for his basketball career, which included two trips to the NYSPHSAA Final Four, Isaac will graduate as the all-time winningest player in the program history. He was named a CCAA First-Team All-Star and a Buffalo News All-WNY First-Team All-Star.
He was also a captain on the lacrosse team and finished his most recent season with 48 goals.
Isaac will continue his athletic career at the collegiate level at John Carroll University.

Claiming the Anita Oyler Female Athlete of of the Year Award was Ryanna Brady. Another three-sport athlete, Brady participated in cross country, indoor track and outdoor track, excelling in each. Brady became Salamanca’s third-ever New York State qualifier in cross country and its first since the 1980s. In indoor track, she was a sectional qualifier and is a program record holder in the 1,500m, 3,000m, and 3,200m as well as in the 1,600m relay. As for her outdoor track career, she was a CCAA All-Star and sectional qualifier in 2023, 2024 and 2025, the 2025 CCAA overall champion in the 3,000m and holds the school record in the 2,000m steeplechase.
Brady will continue her track career at Div. I Niagara University.

Jacob Herrick and Madisyn Lafferty were dubbed the male and female Roger Crandall Warrior Pride Character and Courage Award winners, respectively.
Herrick was a three-sport athlete over the course of his varsity career, taking part in soccer, basketball and baseball. Lafferty was also a three-sport athlete, participating in soccer, cheerleading and basketball.
