FALCONER — At the Section 6 State Qualifier meet, the Salamanca boys track and field team was represented in two individual events and two relays.

Kyle Lecceardone was the lone individual-event qualifier for the Warriors, participating in both the 200m and the 100m dashes in which he placed 12th and 13th, respectively. His time in the events will see him graduate sixth and fourth all-time on the Warriors’ top-ten list for those events.

“Beyond his speed, Kyle brought unmatched leadership to the team, setting the tone every day through his work ethic, selflessness and fierce determination,” Salamanca boys track and field coach Michelle Hill said. “Whether in practice or mid-sprint, his effort was all-in, all the time. His intensity, discipline, and quiet leadership will be deeply missed next season.”

In the team events, Salamanca’s 400m relay squad of Dakota Colts, Perry Winship, Remy Follman and Lecceardone earned a 10th-place finish.

The 3,200m relay team of Mason Brewer, Knox Johnson, Payton Bigler and Aiden George finished ninth overall at the meet and earned the #4 spot on the school’s all-time list.

“Overall, the 2025 season was one of growth, achievement and momentum,” Hill said. “With rising talent and a solid foundation in place, the Warriors boys track and field team is building something special and the future looks fast.”

SUMMER BASEBALL

St. Mary’s Legion 16, Bradford Legion 5

BRADFORD — Despite jumping out to an early 2-0 advantage, the Bradford Legion fell as the St. Mary’s Legion pieced together a consistent, overwhelming offensive effort.

St. Mary’s managed to knot up the affair before bringing across a game-altering six runs in the fourth inning alone and eight more over the course of the next three frames. Granted, its bats did have some help as Bradford’s quartet of pitchers struggled to find the strike zone on the day, combining for 14 walks to their nine strikeouts.

The Bradford offense also struggled to generate much, only connecting for two hits — courtesy of Ethan Obergfell (1-for-2, run, RBI, walk) and Tarren Reese (1-for-4, run) — to St. Mary’s nine
