Eldred, PA- Dawn Marie Bean “Loving Wife, Mother, and Grandma Great”

Dawn M. Bean (73), of Eldred, passed away peacefully at her home on April 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on September 25, 1951, in Olean, Dawn was the beloved daughter of Clifford B. Jr. and Clara M. (Shoup) Babb. On February 14, 1992, in Black Creek, she married the love of her life, Robert L. Bean, who survives.

Dawn attended Allegany Schools. She began working at Cutco on April 12, 1976 where she worked for almost 38 years holding various positions including department 1, shipping and retiring January 1, 2014 as an engraver. She truly loved her job.

More than anything, Dawn was the heart of her family. She was known for hosting family reunions and being the one who held everyone together. To all who knew her, she was “Mary Poppins” — nurturing, wise, endlessly kind, and always putting others first. She had a remarkable ability to see the good in everyone and offered a steady voice of reason, compassion, and love.

Dawn found her greatest joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, cherishing every moment she had with them. Her legacy of unconditional love and generosity will continue to shine through all who knew her.

In addition to her devoted husband Robert, Dawn is survived by her children: Wendy (Lyle) Adams, Jeannine (Shawn) Gray, and Michele Feile; and her stepsons, Bryan Bean and Bruce Bean. She was a proud grandmother to Dakota (Emalee) Lee, Dylan (Andrew) Bradt, Mason (Summer) Adams, Taylor Lee, Kera (Bucky) Hendershot, and Macy (Tyler) Pellerino; great-grandmother to Jaden, Ryan, Addie, and Maddox; and step great-grandmother to Ashlynn “Ducky”, Hailey, Ainsley “Miss A.”, Jaeda, Skylar, and Tyler Jr. She was a bonus parent and bonus grandparent to many.

Dawn is also survived by her ten siblings: Sandi Crozier, Randy (Naomi) Babb, Ronald (Cheryl) Babb, Jack (Carol) Babb, Skip (Shirlene) Babb, Joyce (Chuck) Cwicklinski, Wayne (Diane) Babb, Linda (Shane) McGranaghan, Brian (Alvena) Babb, and Brenda Cabisca; as well as sisters-in-law Mary Lou Babb and Janet Babb. She leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, along with cherished friends Larry and Judy Carr and her neighbors Jeremy and Trish James, and Kyle and Jessica Martin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four siblings: Larry Babb, Robert Babb, Melody Green, and Jim Babb; and a foster son Gary Elliott.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Otto Township Firehall, 118 R.L. Sweitzer Drive, Duke Center, PA. Rev. Jody Babb, her nephew, will officiate.  Arrangements are under the direction of Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Dawn’s honor to Otto-Eldred Lady Terrors Basketball, c/o Otto-Eldred Sports Boosters, 143 R.L. Sweitzer Drive, Duke Center, PA 16729.
