Ellicottville – Kathy S. Weishan, 78, of Harlingen, TX, formerly of Ellicottville, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2025 at her home in Harlingen. She was born on September 30, 1946 in Salamanca, daughter of the late Lynford “Lynn” and June (Day) Weishan.
For 34 years, she taught middle school in Harlingen, TX, until her retirement. She was a member of the Scottish Society of South Texas as well as a life member of the Texas State Teachers Association. In Ellicottville, Kathy was a member of the United Church of Ellicottville and helped with the Ellicottville Food Pantry. She was also a member of the Great Valley Senior Citizens, and the Ellicottville Historical Society, as history and genealogy, in particular, were hobbies of hers.
Kathy is survived by a brother, Brian Weishan of Great Valley, and two sisters; Joanna Weishan of Sterling Heights, MI, and Bonnie Weishan of Greenville, SC, as well as a nephew, Derek (Katie Harrington) Weishan of Great Valley.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at 11 am at the Sunset Hill Cemetery in Ellicottville.
