GOWANDA, NY – Unable to get past Gowanda’s ace, the Portville baseball team opened their season with a shutout loss, falling 9-0.
As Portville failed to find contact at the plate, Gowanda got off to a hot start, cranking home three runs in the first inning and following it up with four more over the next two innings. They would finish Portville with two more scores in the bottom of the sixth.
Ty Kosinksi and Peyton Carter tallied Portville’s two hits, going 1-for-3 and 1-for-2, respectively.

SMETHPORT, PA – Big bats for the Lady Terrors helped them demolish Smethport.
Steamrolling through the first three frames, O-E scored four in the first inning, five in the second before putting the final nail in the coffin with seven runs in the third.
Ayla Van Scoter and Carrie Drummond each tallied home runs during the win, with Van Scoter going a perfect 4-for-4 alongside a double and an RBI while Drummond ended 2-for-3 with a single and three RBIs. Jahden Smith, Baylee Francis and Lexi Prince all had doubles, combining for five RBIs, respectively. In the circle, Rayel Hakes fanned eight batters while giving up just two walks.

ALLEGANY, NY – A hot start steamrolled into a blowout win for the Gators as they tallied their second win of the season.
Summer Rhow and Kailey Truman each scored three runs in the win, with Rhow going 4-for-5 and Truman finishing 1-for-1 with two RBIs. Abby Peck picked up two hits in three appearances at the plate, recording two runs and two more batted in while Kendall Lemon ended 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
