Seven of nine villages in county are holding elections Tuesday

Three Cattaraugus County villages will be voting for mayor on Tuesday (March 18), although none will be contested.

Seven of the county’s nine villages will be voting from noon to 9 p.m. There is no voting in Little Valley or Delevan.

In Allegany, incumbent Republican Trustees Jerry Cummins and John Kolkowski are seeking re-election for four-year terms. Kolkowski is cross endorsed by Democrats. Challenger Shannon Barie is running on the Democrat and Common Sense party lines.

Also in Allegany, Town Justice Lance Brennan is seeking re-election to a four-year term on the Democrat and Republican lines.

Cattaraugus Mayor Anthony Nagel is unopposed in seeking re-election to a two-year-term on the Republican line.

Trustee Tara Beth Perkins is seeking re-election and Tod Wulf Jr. is seeking election as a trustee on the Republican line. They are unopposed for two-year terms.

The first of two contested elections for trustee is in the Village of Ellicottville. 

Incumbent Trustee Caitlin H. Croft is seeking re-election to a four-year term on the independent Community First line. Sean Lowes, an incumbent trustee and Chad Neal are also seeking election to the two seats. 

In the Village of Franklinville, Republican Sherrill Sciortino is uncontested for a one-year trustee vacancy.

Mark D. Nephew is the Allegiance Party candidate for a two-year term as mayor.

Also in Gowanda, Trustee Peter Sisti is the Allegiance Party candidate for re-election to the Village Board. He is uncontested.

There are three candidates for two trustee seats in Portville, the second and last contested village trustee race in the county. Incumbent Trustees Michael DeBarbieri, a Democrat and Joseph McLarney, a Republican are seeking re-election to four-year terms. The other trustee candidate is Republican Mike Randolph.

Also in Portville, Village Justice Judy McClain is seeking re-election to a four-year term on the Republican line.

South Dayton Mayor Robert Killock is seeking re-election to a two-year term on the Republican line. There are two Republican candidates for two-year trustee terms: incumbent Melinda Frederickson and Jenna Elizabeth Tabak.
