PORTVILLE — While the Portville boys basketball team may have out-scored the visiting Bolivar-Richburg in the second half, it was unable to overcome the deficit it found itself in at halftime, ultimately losing 63-51 to Bolivar-Richburg.
After one frame, the Panthers and Wolverines were only separated by three points. But that all changed in a flash as the latter out-scored the hosts by a 24-5 margin in the second half.
Portville had a mountain to climb in the second half and did manage to cut the lead to 10 after getting its offense to click in the fourth quarter, out-scoring B-R 16-5 in that frame, but it was too late for any comeback.
Chase Armstrong led the Panthers with 12 points and seven rebounds. Zach Green helped him in the scoring department with 10 of his own.
