MOON TOWNSHIP — The St. Bonaventure women’s basketball team had a tough day shooting the ball as it suffered a 65-41 defeat to Robert Morris in its final non-conference game of the season.
The Bonnies were within one point, sitting at a 14-15 deficit with just over two minutes left in the first quarter. To that point, neither side had established themselves as a dominant force in the game. That would change come the second and third quarters.
Over those two frames, Robert Morris out-scored Bona 34-16, pulling away and never looking back.
Isys Grady and Noa Givon led the hosts, scoring a game-high 16 points apiece. Jada Lee was not far behind them with 14 points of her own.
For Bona, only one player finished the game with double figures in the scoring column. Zoe Shaw, who rested for just one minute of the entire game, recorded 14 points and a game-high eight rebounds. Nadechka Laccen had the next highest point tally for the visitors, finishing with eight points and seven rebounds.
Over the course of the entire contest, the Bonnies shot just 25% from the field and 16.7% from 3-point range, making just one of their last 12 attempts.
The Bonnies will have a few days off for the holidays before opening up their Atlantic 10 account for the season with a road game against Loyola Chicago on Dec. 29. Tip-off for that game is slated for 3 p.m.
