AUSTIN, PA – Up against their third consecutive North Tier League opponent, the Otto-Eldred girls’ basketball team survived overtime, beating Austin 37-30.
Although the Lady Terrors held control of the ball game through the first two quarters, a third-quarter eruption from the Lady Panthers would rocket them in front. Led by Lilly Clinger and Kadence McKiernan, who combined for 11 in the quarter, Austin would enter the fourth quarter up by six. A pair of 3-pointers from Addie Bell and Ayla Van Scoter would knot the game in the fourth, producing the first overtime face off for either program.
Once there, the gassed Lady Panthers would let the game slip from their grasp. While they were only able to put up an additional six points, O-E would put themselves in the driver seat with contributions from Baylee Francis and Van Scoter, sealing the Lady Terrors’ third fourth win of the year.
Francis led O-E in scoring with 13, also pulling down six rebounds, while Van Scoter finished with nine points, seven rebounds and four steals. Rayel Hakes and Carrie Drummond would each tally 10 rebounds, with Hakes posting six points and Drummond four.

Falconer 56, Olean 46 OT
FALCONER, NY – A back-and-forth overtime affair ended in heartbreak for the Olean boys basketball team as it was only able to muster up one point in the extra frame, falling to hosts Falconer.
For the Huskies, it is their second-straight loss after suffering a home defeat to Salamanca earlier in the week, but it was not for a lack of effort from the team’s stars.
Mykel Rivera led the team with 15 points and was followed by Caedyn Tingley and Joe Mest who provided 12 apiece.
However, they were unable to stop the force that was Roger Markham for the Golden Falcons as he recorded a game-high 24 points off eight baskets and a perfect 6-for-6 mark from the charity stripe.
