Duke Center- Larry L. Snyder “Loving Husband, Father & Pa” 

 Larry L. Snyder, lifelong resident of Pennsylvania passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Olean General Hospital following a lengthy illness. 

 Larry was born on May 20, 1943, in Dauphin, PA and was the son of Maurice and Bertha Herb Snyder. On August 14, 1965, in Harrisburg at St. Patrick’s Cathedral he married his loving wife, Jeanne Marie Smerker, who survives. 

 Larry was a 1961 graduate from Millersburg Upper Paxton High School. He went on to attend Mansfield State College and graduated in 1966. Larry worked at Otto-Eldred Elementary from 1966 to 1999 where he was a 5th grade teacher and held a position as principal. He was an assistant football coach from 1967 to 1984. Larry was proud to say that he was the clock and scoreboard controlman for the volleyball and basketball games at Otto-Eldred from 1967 until 2024; 57 years! He also enjoyed hunting, playing old timers softball, golfing, snowmobiling, and bowling. Larry was known for his fabulous sense of humor and great smile. In his retirement he enjoyed many activities with his family. To family and friends he was known as a Big Lar. 

 Beside his loving wife Jeanne, Larry is survived by daughter, Amy Marie (Douglas) Martz, a son, David (Amy) Snyder, 5 grandchildren; Becca Martz, Dominick Martz, Bartholomew Snyder, Emily Snyder, and William Snyder, 3 great grandchildren; Payton Tolson, Malia Martz, and Camden Martz, a brother, Gilbert Snyder, and 3 sisters; Marcia Matter, Sandy Stahler, and Evelyn Paul. 

 Larry was predeceased by his parents, a sister, Lena Harner, and two brothers, Carl Snyder and Stan Snyder. 

Friends will be received on Monday, December 30, 2024, from 11:00am to 2:00pm at which time a memorial service will be held by the Rev. Rick Price at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 646 E. State St., Olean Online condolences may be made at www.letromcintoshspinkfuneralhome.com
