John A. “Jack” Wyllys, 89, of Route 241, Randolph, Town of Conewango, passed away at home Sunday, (November 17, 2024) with his family at his side.

Jack was born November 21, 1934, at home in the Town of Conewango, the son of the late John Arthur Wyllys Sr. and Wilmah J. (Flagg) Wyllys.

He attended Randolph Central School and had retired from a lifetime of Farming on the Wyllys Family Farm in Randolph with his wife by his side, where he took over for his father at the age of 18, when his father passed away. He had also worked for Dr. Richard Draudt at Angus Hill Farms in Randolph and at Blackstone in Jamestown. Following retirement, he raised and sold, Registered Paint Horses and Polled Herford beef cattle.

He was a member of the Farm Bureau, Cooperative Extension, Conewango Fire Department, Chautauqua County Horseman’s Associations, Elibomwons, and Southern Tier Mini Tractor Pullers. He enjoyed bowling at the former Randolph Bowling Company and Twi-Lite Lanes. He was also a Toy Tractor Collector and was a Die Hard International Tractor Collector. He enjoyed Carpentry and woodworking and he especially loved his little dog; Ellymae.

He is survived by his wife; Joyce E. “Skip” (Dahl) Wyllys, whom he married on July 16, 1955 in Falconer, three daughters; Patricia (Scott) McKinney of Gerry, Debra (Gary) Ring of Randolph and Judy Wyllys (Greg Owens) of Farmersville Station, NY, 11 Grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and a nephew, Michael Heerlein of Jamestown. .

He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Wyllys in 1995 and a sister; Dorothy Heerlein.

As per Jacks wishes, there will be no services held. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Van Rensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church Street, Randolph, New York 14772
