LOCAL HS ROUNDUP: Bradford pummeled at home; O-E, Salamanca football bring home wins

BRADFORD, PA – In one of their final games played at Parkway Field, the Bradford football team was demolished by Karns City, losing 65-6. 

The Owls have two more games left, the first being against Coudersport at home followed by their season finale at Kane.

OTTO-ELDRED 48, SMETHPORT 34

DUKE CENTER, PA  – A spark in the fourth quarter carried the Terrors to victory over visiting Smethport. 

After a scoreless first quarter, both teams came to life, with O-E taking a 20-15 advantage going into the break. In the third, the Hubbers were able to outscore their opponents, albeit, just barely and found themselves still down 32-28. Smethport would score once more in the contest, but the Terrors responded, posting 16 points to take home the win.

O-E’s Shane Magee ended with 327 yards and three touchdowns, completing a scorching 83 percent of his passes. Shene Thomas was the target of six of those, earning a team-high 134 receiving yards and one touchdown. On the ground, Hunter App rushed for 78 yards, barely beating out Magee who finished with 77.

SALAMANCA 48, FALCONER 21

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY, NY – The Warriors continued their hot season with a win on the road. 

Maddox Isaac was nearly perfect through the air, completing six of his seven passes for 102 yards, while also dominating the ground game for 168 rushing yards. 

On defense, Zach Trietley and Warrick Kyler led the way in unassisted tackles with seven, while Cory Holleran had six.

RANDOLPH 4, OLEAN 0

RANDOLPH – Playing in their fourth game of the week, a tired Lady Warriors squad was shutout on the road. 

Needing the rest, Olean chose to sit their entire starting lineup, leaving their goalkeepers with more than they could handle. Emma Edwards took to the net first, recording 18 saves while letting in three. After 70 minutes, Meg Moran stepped in for the final 10, saving 10 shots and allowing one.
