The Bolivar Richburg Wolverines are 20024 CCMFL Super Bowl Champions!

Capping an undefeated season the Wolverines downed the previously unbeaten Allegany-Limestone Gator’s 36-20.  The Wolverines jumped out early as Wolverines coach Jude Auman “wanted to set the tone early by spreading the field out with an empty set and creating…situations with (Joe) Welch, which proved to be very successful scoring on the opening drive”.  “Bolivar came out firing on all cylinders and caught us off guard. Before we knew it, we were down 21-0” said Gator Coach Travis Aderman.

Auman praised his offense “Our first year Quarterback (Grant Ball) really rose to the challenge…he really understands the game and played really well for us on both sides of the ball. He will do very well as he progresses and returns next year”. “TD” Welch had another fantastic game and came up big as he has all season, “I’m not sure how many yards Welch had in total, but I’m confident that it was well over 200. We knew that Welch was going to need some help” and Bolivar-Richburg got it in the “from of Cohen Fetzer, and Melina Hall also having touchdowns in the game”.

Defensively the Wolverines knew they were up against a very strong team. “Allegany-Limestone is a well-coached team that likes to play tough physical football. Our goal was to prevent long runs…and force them to keep things inside… Our defense came up huge in the red zone a couple times with an interception by Welch and a strong overall team effort. Our defensive line (Connor Winchell, Benny Brant, and Brantley Willets) did a great job especially in the second half to allow our middle linebacker (Luke Auman) to come up huge with some big tackles at the end like he has done all year. Our defensive ends (Melina Hall, and Joey Duell) did a great job jamming their lead blockers to keep everything inside too. I would also like to highlight the play by Liam Small who came up with some huge tackles for us. He has progressed nicely this year and should complement a modified program next year”.

“Dakston Maul (also) played a great game on both sides of the ball and had a very timely catch to set up our touchdown. Dakston is another returning back next year that will have a huge workload with many so many kids set to play modified next year”.

Although the gators found themselves down 21-0 early, they demonstrated why they were undefeated as they fought their way back into the game.  Aderman was very proud of their effort, “The boys finally got it together and by the end of the 3rd we closed the gap to 27-20! It was a hard fought game on both sides and I couldn’t be more proud of both teams. They both left it all in the field! Allegany had three kids score: Jace Thompson, Miles Hayes and Logan Hardy. All kids on both sides ran hard and you heard a lot of pads hitting out on that field”. After 13 years of coaching this will be the last for Travis, “this being my last year of coaching after 13 seasons; I couldn’t be prouder to end it with this team. Going 8-1 and losing in the Class A Super Bowl is nothing to put our heads down about. These boys were very coachable and pushed themselves beyond the limits!  Thank you to Bolivar for a great last game, and thank you to the parents for a great season and raising such great young men.”

Coach Auman felt the same way about his team and the support of the community, “This has been an amazing year and we did what we set out to do and that was winning the super bowl. I’m very proud of each of these kids as it took a real team effort to get here. The Bolivar-Richburg and Shinglehouse communities really came up huge for us. It was by far the loudest youth football game I have ever coached. The school allowed us to charter a couple buses for the team and cheerleaders and we were escorted out of town by the Bolivar and Richburg fire departments and cannot thank them enough for how they support the school and community. On the return we were escorted back into town by the same fire departments along with Shinglehouse, PA- I think there were 11 total fire trucks and ambulances with lights and sirens blowing. Additionally, the streets were lined with cheering fans!
