Portville – Alice L. Keesler
Alice L. Keesler, 68, of Portville, New York, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at Strong Memorial Hospital following a long illness, surrounded by her family and close friends.
Born on November 21, 1957, in Cuba, New York, Alice was the daughter of the late John “Jack” and Audrey Garrey. She graduated from Portville Central School in 1975 and later earned an associate degree in Business Administration and Management from Olean Business Institute in 2013. Alice worked for Ironpeak, formerly The Iroquois Group, for 28 years before retiring in 2022.
Alice found great joy in time spent with family and friends, especially camping and making memories together. She was a member of the Portville American Legion Auxiliary and the Olean Coasters. With a generous spirit and a willingness to help others, she volunteered with Meals on Wheels and delivered for the Olean Food Pantry.
Above all, Alice was a proud grandmother who cherished her grandsons. Her love for her family and her dedication to her community will be fondly remembered by those who knew her.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Emmery Keesler; her daughters, Kristin Kupiec and Amanda (Jude) Auman; her grandsons, Jude and Luke Auman and Nathan Keesler; her sister, Nancy (John) Magee; her brother, Robert (Paula) Garrey; a special aunt, Sandra Levia; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Alice was predeceased by her husband, Lyman “Bum” Baker Jr. (d. 1989); her stepson, Emmery Keesler, Jr.; and her infant daughter, Erin.
At Alice’s request, there will be no visitation but a celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2026, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Portville American Legion.
