DUKE CENTER, PA – Lifted by a 29-point second quarter, the Otto-Eldred girl’s basketball team earned their spot in the North Tier League finals, beating Northern Potter 60-35 as they defended the Terror Dome.
Facing the only NTL team to defeat them in the regular season for a third time, the top-seeded Lady Terrors sprang into action. Led by Ayla Van Scoter and Rayel Hakes, who combined for 11 of the team’s 13 points in the first quarter, O-E quickly put the game out of reach with an avalanche of points in the second. Scoring came from the four-headed hydra, with Hakes and Van Scoter combining with Baylee Francis and Jahden Smith to outscore the Lady Panthers 29-8 before the half.
Holding a sizable lead, the Lady Terrors coasted to victory as they advanced to the NTL Tournament finals.
Francis and Van Scoter both ended with 18 points, with Franics nabbing seven rebounds, three steals and two assists while Van Scoter finished with four assists, three rebounds and two assists. Hakes ended as the third Lady Terror in double-digit scoring, recording 11 points, seven rebounds and two steals alongside Smith’s seven points, seven steals and five rebounds.
O-E will next see No. 2 Port Allegany in the finals, which is slated for a 6 p.m. start at Bradford Area High School.

CATTARAUGUS, NY – After a relatively slow start, the Olean girls basketball team surged ahead in the second half and grabbed a comfortable win over Cattaraugus-Little Valley.
Alaina Hirliman and Viktoriia Lazyska scored 15 and 11 points respectively for the Huskies.

DUNKIRK, NY – Despite keeping pace through a quarter of play, the Allegany-Limestone boys basketball team slowly fell behind and ultimately suffered a lopsided defeat.
Nolan O’Brien recorded a team-high 24 points and five rebounds for the Gators.

DUBOIS, PA – Cole Burdick’s school record setting nine 3-pointers was just not enough as Smethport fell on the road to DuBois.
Burdick finished with a team-high 27 points for the Hubbers. The game-high belonged to BuBois’ Tyler Pfingstler, who netted 34 points, netting eight 3-pointers in the process.
Holden Smith and Colin Okerlund scored 15 points and 13 points, respectively, in the loss.

Pitt-Bradford 95, Penn St. Behrend 84
ERIE, PA – Avenging a blowout loss early in the season, the Panthers planted their flag on the Lions hardwood as Xander Norris and Jeremy Rodriguez combined for 54 points.
Hitting seven 3-pointers along the way, Norris ended with a season-high 32 points alongside two rebounds and an assist while Rodriguez finished with 22 points, five 3-pointers, seven rebounds and three assists. Clarence Cobbins was the only other Panther to reach double-digit scoring, ending with 14 points, four rebounds and two assists.
Collecting their ninth conference win and with just two games to go, Pitt-Bradford secured a home playoff spot for the upcoming Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference postseason. However, first they travel to take on Hilbert on Wednesday at 7 p.m. before finishing the regular season at Pitt-Greensburg on Saturday, Feb. 21.

BRADFORD, PA – The Panthers’ 22nd loss came at the hands of a 30-point blowout to the Lions.
Pitt-Bradford was led by Dalayla Alexander’s 23 points and four rebounds, followed by Amber Murak with 17 points, three rebounds and two steals and Raquel Sewell’s 14 points and 18 rebounds.
