ALLEGANY — The Right Thinkers will meet Monday (Oct. 20) at The Hall, 80 N. Fourth St., Allegany.
The doors will open by 5 o’clock for complimentary pizza and water bottles and a chance to check out the displays. The meeting runs from 6 to 8 p.m. There is no admission, but donations are appreciated.
The theme for the Right Thinkers meeting is “The Pending Energy Disaster in New York State and Pennsylvania.” The panelists include: Mary Gilstrap, executive director of New York Oil & Gas; Jeff Brewer vice president of operations at American Refinery in Bradford, Pa.; Zilvenas Silenas, CEO of Empire Center, Albany and Assemblyman Joe Sempolinski.
The Cattaraugus County Republican Women will have a donation table at the meeting to collect activity items for children (all ages) referred to Child Protective Service (CPS). Cash donations, small white boards, markers, fidgets and other items will be accepted for the 100 Halloween bags.
The next Right Thinkers meeting on Nov. 17, will honor the military, with panelists: Gen. Arthur Austin, a local resident in the New York State Veterans Hall of Fame; Steve Appleby, former World War II museum curator;Shane Pancio, a St. Bonaventure University graduate and National Guard member, and John Gordier, director of a local Veterans Association.
The Dec. 15 meeting will focus on “Marriage, Family, and Our Culture,” with panelists: Michelle Erdt, a Turning Point USA representative; Cattaraugus County Legislator and teacher Brenda Hanson; Jonathan Ward, pastor of North Park Wesleyan Church, and Dr. Nicholas Waddy, an Alfred State College professor.
