DUNKIRK, NY – Four touchdowns from Dom Myers led the Olean football team back into the win column, leaving enemy territory with a 41-18 win over Dunkirk.
The Huskies wasted no time making their way downfield, seeing a successful drive on their first possession of the night which was capped off by an eight-yard score from Myers. Holding the Marauders at bay, Myers and Co. closed out the first quarter by building up a 20-0 lead before scoring once more in the second.
Their unrivaled run continued in the second half, continuously stalling out their opponents, including a pick-six from Colby Booth in the final seconds of the third quarter. While Dunkirk broke the ice in the fourth, scoring on back-to-back drives, Olean mustered one final response late, seeing Myers cross the gridiron for a 64-yard carry across the plane.
Myers ended with 123 rushing yards and four touchdowns, also throwing four passes for 34 yards. Colby Booth ran for 20 yards, also collecting a team-high three solo tackles and an interception.
At 2-4, the Huskies have just two more games on the schedule. First, they will play their final contest at Bradner Stadium, a 7 p.m. matchup against Cheektowaga next Friday, before closing out their regular season campaign against Lackawanna on Friday, Oct. 23.
Portville 36, Fredonia 6
CUBA, NY – Finding production in all four quarters, the Panthers tallied their fourth win of the season in a lopsided victory over the Hillbillies.
Portville’s overwhelming offense came almost entirely from their ground game, an effort led by Hayden Schappacher, who ended the night with 221 of the Panthers’ 304 rushing yards. Schappacher came away with four touchdowns on 20 carries, while Liam Taylor collected 82 rushing yards and one score.
Improving to 4-2, Portville will stay home for their next contest, hosting Southwestern/Frewsburg (1-5) before finishing their regular season against Salamanca on the road.
Smethport 66, Coudersport 28
COUDERSPORT, PA – The Hubbers’ extended their win streak to five as they came away with a blowout over the Falcons.
Maddox Dickerson ended with 209 rushing yards and five touchdowns, followed by Jude Kisko with 247 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Aiden Tanner led the effort on defense with seven solo tackles while Braiden Keech ended with six, also recovering one fumble in the win.
Now standing at 6-1, Smethport will host Kane next Friday before ending their regular season against Cameron County on the road.
Moniteau 7, Otto-Eldred 6
DUKE CENTER, PA – In a low scoring affair, the Terrors fell short of victory against the Warriors.
With two games left, O-E (3-4) will play their final home game next Friday against Union-AC Valley before concluding the campaign against Coudersport.
Brookville 19, Bradford 6
BROOKVILLE, PA – Braylon Little carried in the Owls’ lone touchdown of the night as they fell to 1-6 on the season.
Up next, the Owls will return back to Parkway Field to see St. Marys next Friday at 7 p.m.
