SALAMANCA — Mayoral candidates in Salamanca will meet in a debate Wednesday sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Cattaraugus and Allegany Counties.
The debate featuring Mayor Sandra L. Magiera and Michael R. Smith will be held at the Roy Evans Seneca Theater on South Main Street from 7-8 p.m.
Magiera is on the Democratic and independent Citizens Choice Party lines, while Smith, a former mayor, will appear on the independent Salamanca Proud ticket.
Email debate questions to cattarauguslwv@gmail.com. Questions will not be shared with the candidates in advance.
Submissions will be screened for relevance. Questions will not be taken from the floor.
Light refreshments will be served.
Magiera, a Democrat, has served as mayor since 2022.
An enrolled Democrat, Smith served as mayor from 2017 to 2021.
