BRADFORD, PA – Firing on all cylinders, the Bradford girl’s soccer team picked up their sixth win of the season in dominating fashion, seeing Alyssa Mangold add another hat trick to her resume as they blew out St. Marys 7-0 at home.
While Mangold led Bradford in the box score, multiple Lady Owls found ways to contribute as they defended their home field. Cami Sheeley, Reese Rosendahl, Ally Graham and Austyn Douglass all managed to find the back of the net during the win, with Douglass also tallying an assist. Brielle Blatchley and Harmony Schneider each assisted on two goals a-piece.
“We played a very well-rounded game with great passing, possession and team work in both halves,” said Bradford head coach Jim Warnick.
With a light week ahead of them, the Lady Owls now enjoy four days off before hosting Punxsutawney at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Olean 1, Catt-Little Valley 0, OT
CATTARAUGUS, NY – Finding a game-winner in overtime, the Huskies broke out of their mid-season slump with a win over the Timberwolves.
In the time since Olean last saw Catt-Little Valley on Monday, Sept. 14, the Huskies have been struggling, suffering six straight losses as they were outscored 36-1 and fell to 2-6. Seeing the Timberwolves once again, it would take all 80 minutes of regulation and three minutes of extra time to change the tide. Heading into another overtime, Hannah Riehle broke the stalemate, punching in her first goal of the season for the win.
Improving to 3-7, Olean next stays out on the road for an under-the-lights Thursday contest with Allegany-Limestone at 7 p.m.
Boy’s Soccer
Portville 8, Pine Valley-Gowanda 0
PINE VALLEY, NY – Seeing four Panthers combine for eight goals, Portville pulled off a blowout performance for win No. 3.
Leading the charge as usual was Colin German, who netted the Panthers initial two goals in the 18th and 20th minute. From there, Aidan Barber put Portville up by three before German completed the hat trick for a four-goal lead before halftime.
In the second, Garett Reynolds joined the scoring party with his fifth goal of the season, before Barber scored his second of the night. Parker Keim then closed out the night with goals in the 59th and 60th minute.
At 3-2-3 overall and 3-1-1 in league play, Portville next hosts Randolph on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
Allegany-Limestone 3, Fredonia 1
FREDONIA, NY – Keeping their undefeated streak alive, the Gators tacked on their sixth league record of the season as they left enemy territory with a dub.
Besides a non-league tie with Portville, A-L has been on a tear of late, holding their previous five opponents scoreless as they entered Monday’s matchup with the Hillbillies. Although they did allow a goal into their net, the Gators continued to dominate the CCAA standings as they picked up another lopsided win.
At 6-0 in league play and 8-1-1 overall, A-L next sees Southwestern on the road on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
Southwestern 6, Olean 1
JAMESTOWN, NY – Facing their sixth CCAA opponent of the season, the Huskies were unable to stop the bleeding, seeing their fourth league loss via blowout to the Trojans.
On Wednesday, Olean will host Jamestown at 6 p.m.
Bradford 4, St. Marys 2
BRADFORD, PA – After a 6-0 win on Saturday, the Owls continued their momentum with a home victory over the Dutch.
Ellicottville-Franklinville 4, Salamanca 1
ELLICOTTVILLE, NY – Falling victim to an early scoring barrage, the Warriors suffered their third loss in a row.
The Eagles opened the action early, building up a two-goal advantage in the first 20 minutes before adding another to the deficit before halftime. Salamanca’s lone goal, when down 4-0, came from Austin Johnny-John in the 65th minute, assisted by John Holmes-Pierce.

Austin 3, Bradford 2
BRADFORD, PA – The Lady Owls were unable to defend home court as they fell to Austin.
Haley Keane finished with 14 kills, two blocks and five aces while Emma Pilon ended with 13 kills and five digs. Addison Rosendahl came away with five blocks and three kills.
