Carole Ann Dwaileebe, loving wife, devoted mother, cherished Sitti and steadfast friend

Olean – Carol A. Dwaileebe passed away on September 24, 2026, following a brief illness.

Carole was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on December 14, 1936, to Charles and Adele Pike. After graduating from Niagara Falls High School in 1954, she attended Bryant & Stratton Business Institute, where she met her husband, John.

Carole and John shared 63 wonderful years together. They built a loving home and raised six children: Steve (Grace) Dwaileebe, Karen (Kevin) Callahan, John (Nina) Dwaileebe, David Dwaileebe, Marc (Ati) Dwaileebe and Jimmy (Mary Beth) Dwaileebe. Carole devoted her life to raising her children with unwavering love and care. Being a mother brought her great joy.

She was always involved in her children’s lives, volunteering with the PTA and the St. Joseph Church Auxiliary. She took great pride in supporting her family and being an active part of her community.

After her children were grown, Carole enjoyed playing tennis and spending time with friends. She also put her business skills to work, doing payroll and working with Olean Bottling Works. For 20 years, she was co-owner of the Country Christmas Shoppe, a place that brought her great enjoyment.

Carole and John loved to travel and were fortunate to see many parts of the world together, often accompanied by family and friends. The time they spent in Palm Springs was among her fondest memories.

Above all else, Carole’s true pride and joy were her grandchildren: Ryan Callahan, Shaun (Rhonda) Callahan, Caitlin Callahan, KC Callahan, Colden (Morgan) Dwaileebe, Jack Dwaileebe, Emma Dwaileebe, Dawson Dwaileebe, Reece Dwaileebe, Alice Dwaileebe, Adele Dwaileebe and Dhita Dwaileebe. She treasured every moment with them and loved watching her family grow. She was especially excited to welcome her first great-grandchild, who is expected in December 2026.

A devoted wife, mother and caretaker, Carole spent much of her life putting the needs of others before her own. In her later years, she found great joy in going out for lunch and coffee with her special group of friends. Those times of laughter, conversation and companionship were among the joys she treasured most.

Carole was predeceased by her beloved husband, John; her son, Steve; her parents, Charles and Adele Pike; her brother, Chuck; and her eldest, adored grandchild, Ryan Callahan.

Carole leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, family and devotion. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her children, grandchildren, family and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff of Olean General Hospital and Cuba Memorial Hospital, as well as Father Chuck of St. Joseph’s Maronite Catholic Church, for their extraordinary care and compassion during Carole’s final days.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Maronite Catholic Church, 1102 Walnut St., Olean, NY, or to the Olean Public Library Building Fund, 134 N. 2nd St., Olean, NY, in honor of Carole’s love of reading.

Family will receive friends from 5:00pm – 7:00pm Monday (September 28, 2026) at the Guenther Funeral Home Inc., 1303 E. State St., Olean. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday (September 29,2026) at 10:00am at the St. Joseph’s Maronite Church. A burial will follow at the St. Bonaventure Cemetery.
