FREDONIA, NY – An early lead for the Allegany-Limestone girl’s soccer team proved to be too much to overcome as they took down Fredonia 3-0.
The Gators’ sharp-shooter Kennedy Honeck opened the action a goal in the third minute, her eighth of the season, before Kai Wojewoda-Ko tacked on two more first-half scores in the 19th and 29th minute. From there, A-L’s defense kept the Hillbillies in check and scoreless, holding out for the Gators’ seventh win of the season.
Honeck also tallied an assist in the win, as did Peyton Truman, while Kenna MacArthur started in goal, seeing and saving three shots on goal.
Portville 8, Olean 0
OLEAN, NY – Entering her name into the score books with authority, Airiana Whittaker carried the Panthers to a lop-sided victory over the Huskies.
Through five games, Whittaker had yet to find the back of the net, however, that changed early in the Panthers’ Saturday matinee. After a day-opening score from Grace Gariepy, Whittaker tacked on two more within five minutes. Gariepy and Whittaker both found ways to score again before the end of the half, taking a 5-0 lead into the break, before Portville finished out the afternoon with three more unanswered goals.
Whittaker finished with four goals in the Panthers’ third win, sitting at second-most on the team behind Gariepy, who tallied two against Olean alongside two assists. Allie Bray and Anna Faulker both scored once while Quinn Scott and Mia Kreamer ended with one assist a-piece.
In goal for the Panthers, Kaylin Elliott saw one shot and saved it while, across the pitch, Olean’s Alaina Hirliman saw 22 shots on goal and saved 14.
Port United 3, Punxsutawney 0
PUNXSUTAWNEY, PA – Shutout on the road, the Lady Gators fell to 3-4 at the hands of Punxsy.
Dana Clark ended the morning with 11 saves.

ALLEGANY, NY – The Gators picked up their third consecutive win on the season as they downed the Rebels under the lights.
Up next, A-L heads out onto the road for a two-game stretch, seeing Jamestown on Monday and Olean on Wednesday. Both games are slated for 7 p.m. starts.
Frewsburg 2, Salamanca 1
SALAMANCA, NY – After starting the season on a heat streak, the Warriors suffered their third consecutive loss, falling to Frewsburg on the road.
Salamanca’s lone goal of the day came from Andrew McCormick on an assist from Easton Chudy.

Olean, the East Aurora Invitational
EAST AURORA, NY – Facing a field of 23 teams, the boy’s and girl’s teams each found 12th place finishes on Saturday.
The boys were led by Declan Bourillette, who crossed the finish line of the 2.9-mile course with a time of 17:27, for 33rd place. He was followed by Daks Perry (18:01) in 46th, Cruz Clark (18:54) in 68th and Seamus Burnett (19:27) in 82nd.
For the girls, Rachael Dulmus led the pack in 29th with a time of 20:46, while Kinley Belleisle (21:03) took 38th and May Eaton (21:27) took 47th.
