ALLEGANY, NY – After a year where they ‘took their lumps,’ the Allegany-Limestone football team finally broke the seal, earning their first win since returning to eleven-man football with a 54-0 victory over Cardinal O’Hara.
In their first taste of action, the Gators came out strong. Pouring 22 unanswered points, they set the tone and warmed the engine, scoring in each of the next three quarters while Hawks remained unable to find a footing.
Greg Peck came away with two receptions, 85 yards and a touchdown, while Ryan Callen collected 82 yards on two catches, also tallying a pick-six in the win. On the ground, Aidan Coulter finished with 68 yards and a score, followed by Sawyer Prince with 58 rushing yards and a touchdown. Nolan Zink led the defense with two scores, one via pick-six and another via a 63-yard punt return.
Up next, A-L will look to carry the momentum into their game against Chautauqua Lake/Westfield/Brocton, which will be played at home on Friday at 7 p.m.
Kane 42, Bradford 20
BRADFORD, PA – Unable to defend their home turf, the Owls suffered their second loss of the season at the hands of the Wolves.
Lucas Wallace opened Bradford’s scoring with a rushing touchdown, followed by a Keenan Miller kickoff return later in the night. Tommy Langdon also made his way into the endzone via reception.
Bradford will stick around Parkway Field for next week, hosting Smethport at 7 p.m.
Portville/Bolivar-Richburg/Cuba-Rushford 41, Catt-Little Valley 0
BOLIVAR, NY – Finding a flurry of offensive production, the Panthers broke into the season with a dominating win against the Timberwolves.
Tyler Wilson and Liam Gadley broke the seal for Portville, capping off two big first-quarter drives with back-to-back touchdowns, a spark they would carry for the next three frames. The Panthers kept their foot on the gas, scoring another touchdown in the second, two in the third and one last score in the fourth.
Wilson led the team in yards, chipping in 99 rushing yards and one touchdown, while Gadley and Peyton Carter cracked the endzone twice on the ground, combining for 104 rushing yards. Through the air, Braxton Clark came away with 57 receiving yards and one score.
The Panthers will next see Gowanda/Pine Valley, a game to be played on the road on Friday at 7 p.m.
Port Allegany 56, Smethport 7
SMETHPORT, PA – Led by Kellen Veilleux’s 200-plus-yards of offense, the Gators found a second consecutive dominant win as they planted their flag in Hubber territory.
Despite only coming away with two of Port’s nine touchdowns, Veilleux constantly led his team to the precipice, leading in both rushing and receiving yards. On the ground, he came away with 153 yards on ten touches, while through the air he finished with 92 yards on five targets. Quarterback Brennan Fillhart threw 8-for-14 and 185 yards with four passing touchdowns, while Isaac Postlewait, Adrian Penick, Chase Boyd and Liam Hawver all also etched their names into the scoring column.
For Smethport, Mason Swanson tallied 41 passing yards, Maddox Dickerson ended with 27 rushing yards and Aidan Tanner collected 24 receiving yards.
The Gators will look to improve to 3-0 when they take on Brookville next Friday, while Smethport will take to the road for the first time of the season, heading to Bradford.
Otto-Eldred 28, Bucktail 20
BUCKTAIL, NY – After a loss in Week One, the Terrors bounced back with a narrow victory over Bucktail.
Ryan Schenfield threw for 192 yards on a 12-for-19 completion rate, getting the ball to Wyatt Blendinger eight times for 107 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Michael Eaton led the team in rushing yards with 43, followed by Schenfield with 33 and Silas Knapp with 26.
They will look to carry the momentum into their next matchup against Coudersport.
Pioneer 28, Olean 7
OLEAN, NY – Unable to surmount an early deficit, the Huskies opened their season with a loss to the Panthers.
Heading away from Bradner Stadium, Olean next sees Depew before returning home for the first-ever matchup against Portville/Bolivar-Richburg/Cuba-Rushford.

ALLEGANY, NY – In their lone game of the Gator Cup, the Owls were unable to contend with the Eagles’ scoring prowess.
In goal, Lucas Sokoly ended with seven saves, followed by Liam Wyant with two.
